Nevco Fuel Service LLC traces its roots back to 1991 when a father and son founded two, distinct family-owned businesses.

Mahlon Martin started Penn Fuel Oil Co. in Lititz, Pa., when he began selling heating oil and diesel fuel to friends and neighbors. The very same year his son, Nevin, started his HVAC business, which became known as Nevco Service Co. He offered residential and commercial heating and cooling services and installations to customers.

When Mahlon contemplated retiring, it was only natural for him to see if Nevin was interested in continuing Penn Fuel Oil Co. After all, the two had discussed the possibility over the years. When Mahlon made his retirement official in 2017, Nevin merged the two companies, forming Nevco Fuel Service LLC. Gerald Bicher Sr, Nevin’s brother-in-law and Mahlon’s son-in-law has stepped in as general manager for the merged companies. While still family, he does bring an outside perspective to the business.

“I am excited about the opportunity to serve the local community and to be part of a special entity – a competent, multi generational, local company,” Gerald said.

Nevin’s children, Michelle and Loren, are also employed in the office.

The business name might be new, but the family and the workers remain the same — as does the same dedication to providing customers with friendly, professional service and top quality products.

“Our goal with the new company is to offer competitively priced fuel products and HVAC services to our community in a fair and professional manner,” Nevin said.
